I went salsa dancing on Thursday night. I did not get home till late, but it was totally worth it. The experience of seeing the nightlife of Ticos (what Costa Ricans call themselves). I am not familiar with the bar scene in America, but here, it is mostly about dancing and it is an all ages affair. There is drinking and people picking up ladies, but it seemed less hostile than I imagine the American club scene.
For most of the time my uncomfort levels were at about middle school levels (so pretty bad) because I don't drink and I thought that I didn't dance. However, this British lady Cassia took me out a couple of times. It was fun, but I was really pathetic and I felt bad that she missed out dancing with people that knew what they were doing. My lack of skill is especially pronounced because here in most Latin dances the man is supposed to lead.
Anyway, it was fun at the end and people who are like skinned get the VIP let in at clubs, so that was cool.
The first foto is Wednesday's dinner (already began) and the last one is Thursday's (it seemed almost like a hearty chicken noodle soup without the soup part).
