Blog Post #2

Today was nice, but I did not do too much. I woke up late 7:45ish. I slept 9.75 hours yesterday, and I napped, but I still was tired. I hope I don't have malaria like Logan. I spent a lot of time on the computer uploading foto albums to Facebook and trying to get my classes in order for next month when I go to EARTH University.
I played some yard fu`tbol with Juli`an (The grandson of Rosemary the woman I stay with). Also, I walked to a local supermarket in town with Rosemary. We also picked up some shoes from a zapateria (shoe store) for her son Francisco, and I heard someone mutter "gringo" for the first time. The supermarket was owned by Walmart. So it was nice, but the cost of goods here is still higher than in the States.
I ate the delicious almuerzo(lunch) shown above. The juice was from an orange of some type that did not taste like our orange juice. The vegetables on the plate were yuccas. Imagine if a potato and a sweet potato had a baby. Then this 50/50 potato/sweet potato mix had a baby with a potato. The resulting 75/25 potato/sweet potato progeny is what (I imagine) the yucca tastes like.
